I’m 12 weeks pregnant and currently on holiday. I’ve had diarrhoea for about 24-36 hours now: 3-4 bowel movements a day, any food seems to just completely run through me. I don’t know what’s caused it; DH has a bit of tummy upset but not like me.

What can I do to ease this? I’ve been trying to drink lots of water, and sticking to plain food as much as possible but it feels like nothing is working, and there’s so little you can take to help it seems: no Imodium for example. I have some Dioralyte sachets I’ve taken.

At what point should I seek further help, especially considering I’m pregnant?

Hi, it could be food poisoning perhaps, there should be a local pharmacy and if in a hotel front desk or tourist information later today.
Rice toast crackers and banana seem safe.
Anything else double check via Google etc

Hi @user1499609760 could you ring your GP in the UK? GP might be able to give you some advice.
Hope you feel better xx

I called maternity ward when I had an upset stomach for one week around 11 weeks, they said there's nothing they can do. Just advise you to drink lots of water, I took dioralyte like yourself and ate bananas etc x

Thanks all for your advice.
@Ttcmumma that’s useful first hand experience, that there’s actually little that can be done ‘formally’ so to speak. I’ve been mainlining rice and bananas today Smile
We did call in at a pharmacy and they suggested a probiotic, so I’ve to take that for the next few days. Hopefully it helps.
