How many weeks?

Hi ladies! Please can you help. I’m so very new to all this and the worries and anxiety have already kicked in and feel I’m already pestering my husband so wanted to pop on here and ask for some advice.

Long story short, I’ve been on the pill for 10+ years, stopped taking it after finishing the pack on 26th May and had the usual withdrawal bleed on 29th May and then never went back on it. I got a positive pregnancy test on 29th June. Sort of tracked ovulation (again, first time doing that so weren’t sure what I was looking for but got a very dark line on 17/18th June). From my workings out, I would be 7 weeks pregnant. Is that right?

I’m just really confused. I have a private scan booked in for next Thurs (thinking we’ll be 8 weeks), but worried I’m going to be so far out nothing will be seen on screen and make my panic even more.

Thank you in advance for any help! ✨🤍

If ovulation was around 18th June I would say you're just over 6 weeks. Congratulations! :)

I agree, I’d put you at 6+1.

Thanks both! At least I won’t be shocked with the dates if I go in knowing I’m less than I thought.

Me been thick though, sorry, do you mean I could possibly be 6 weeks now or when I go to the scan?

I conceived on 16th OP, and I'm 6w 5d today. So you should be only a few days behind me really. I could see heartbeat on abdominal scan yesterday so you should be OK for scan next week. Congrats

The NHS will base your due date on the first day of your last period. They don’t ask or care about when you think you ovulated. So if your last period started on 29th May then they would count you as being 7+2 today. However if you did ovulate slightly later in your cycle then it’s possible you will measure behind these dates. If that’s still the case by the time you have your 12 week scan they may adjust your EDD on the basis of measurements taken there.

Hey you, just like above poster said, they will ask when your last period was, which it seems for you was 26th May. They go by LMP not usually by ovulation as it can vary! So by the first day of your last lmp. You should be about 7weeks. When you go for your scan these can be about 5days behind or ahead. So either or, you'll be fine next week. Xxx good luck
