Twins.......?

Hi all - I am 3 weeks 5 days today. I have been testing positive since 6 DPO and have been testing daily (just to satisfy my anxieties). Today the pregnant line came up before the control line even did. I am dog tired (falling asleep on the bus tired), bloated and my boobs are really sore. This isn't my first pregnancy and but this is like pregnancy on another level. DH teasing me it could be multiples, is there anything in that? Or more likely just a strong symptom-y pregnancy?

You won't know until u have a scan, I thought it would be that simple to realise

How did you confirm ovulation? Chances are you ovulated earlier as BFPs at 6DPO is pretty much unheard of

So my cycles have been a mess since IVF and last month I had two static smileys and one temperature rise (Oura ring). One was bizarrely the day after my period ended, the second was day 12 which I took to be the true surge. My previous pregnancies which did not make it unfortunately also showed up really early. God knows what's going on!

I know it is probably a coincidence and not related, but my line on test was super dark, and very quickly - my husband laughed when I said I think it is twins. But it was twins... so who knows :)

Lol! Lucky you - how lovely. My husband is Yoruba (highest incidence of twins of any ethnic group in the world) and twins run very strongly in his family. So who knows!! Tbh I just feel lucky and grateful to be pregnant x

@IslingtonAlice twins don’t run down the fathers side so that wouldn’t actually increase your chances. Maybe is still twins though!

We had ivf, so knew it could be possible, but didn't think it would happen if that makes sense! Exactly, enjoy the pregnancy - single or twins are a blessing x

I also felt like I was dying I was so ill and tired singleton pregnancy was much easier.

My DH is a twin and I was very happy not to be having twins! You seem to be more happy about the idea 😁

It is the maternal line though, you would need to release 2 eggs for fraternal twins - and that would happen regardless of who the father is.

Tbh I am just so grateful to be preggy, I'm 30 and my AMH would be poor for a lady in her late 40s so I will be over the moon with any outcome involving a healthy baby/babies!

I no twins don’t run down the fathers side but saying that my partner has 5 sets on his side and I’ve only got one on mine and fell to me as my brother and sister didnt have them but I did

As a pp pointed out it’s likely your dates are off slightly as the earliest you implant is 6dpo and then takes a couple of days for hcg to rise enough to show on a test.

It could be multiples, it could just be your feeling it more this time. I’m currently pregnant with my third and never felt this rough with the other two, definitely only one in there though.

Ignore silly comments, obviously you won’t know until a scan but it’s totally normal to wonder if it could be twins or more.

I’m so sorry you’re feeling rotten with your little one. Hopefully it means you have a super strong Olympic champion swimming around in there!

My cycles are bizarre since IVF but I’m starting to wonder if the light spotting days before my last period came were actually the start of my cycle (which would explain early BFP). With IVF we have had day 4 blastocysts but who on earth knows what’s going on!
