My friend had brown blood at 6 weeks.

Red spotting 2 days ago,

Tests are still showing up + and scan showed baby and heartbeat.

But we are all worried.

What do I say to her? Im so upset

She is like my sister

Hi
I had a brown bleed from week 4-8 with this pregnancy and 2 bright red bleeds. I am now 16 weeks. Unfortunately i had a similar pattern of bleeding with my first pregnancy and mc'd. So bleeding can mean bad news - but it doesn't always!

Just give her a big cuddle and let her cry/talk if she wants too. It will help if she knows you are there for her whatever happens.

Hope that helps x

Letting her talk is the main thing. Agree with everything and especially agree that this is really hard.

I get the feeling that you want to make this better, and that makes you a good friend.

hi - I was rushed in at 12wks with terrible heavy bright bleed which tailed off, same again at 15wks and tailing off again, am still here 18+wks, not ALL bleeding during pg is indicitave of mc - tell her to rest/ not to stress and let the early pregnancy clinic look after her

I would listen rather than say anything. I have had a hard time forgiving a friend who thought she was being reassuring when I had a bleed early in pregnancy by saying 'oh my mum says it's nothing to worry about, happens all the time'. Not that you would say this, but it infuriated me. I would just ring, say 'hiya, been thinking of you' and see how it goes. I'm sure you would have done that anyway but just to add my comment! you sound like a good friend.

I only wanted to tell you my story to let you and your friend know that there is hope - am living proof but it is VERY important she takes their advice and rests - am demented from 6wks of feet up but hey, its all for a good cause

am hoping it all goes well and can I just say how lucky she is to have a lovely friend like you

Hi - I can offer an encouraging story. I bled terribly with DD - so badly that I literally haemorrhaged while out in a restaraunt Off I went to hospital - expecting the worst - but all was fine. VERY worrying. Then it cleared up - and then - 4 weeks later it happened again! Anyway - all was fine and my happy ending is fast asleep upstairs aged 15 months Seemed to happen around my period time - and again at about 12 weeks I had light brown spotting.

Now preggers with DC2 - and same happened again! I'm now 25 weeks - and all seems to be fine. So there is hope but I shan't say it's not worrying. But then again - it doesn't seem to be that unusual either.

Fingers crossed x

Hi
i hope i can add to reassuring you, i bled at 6weeks, 9 weeks and i am now 13 weeks and 2 days, bleeding appeared again at exactly 13 weeks, also around the time i would have had a period i had a scan yesterday and was really expecting bad news, but instead i saw my little flubber (thats its nickname) doing backflips and moving around so much, the heartbeat is strong and everything is as it should be, my sonographer did point out that the bleeding may well be caused by a low lying placenta, she said they do not normally tell u this in the first trimester as it usually corrects itself and so is nothing to worry about. i know that doesn't stop us worrying but it is really common and looking at the talk threads re: low placenta's majority are happy endings which has really made me smile today, so good luck, and god bless you and your little bump x
