Fast baby heart rate

My daughter in USA is pregnant and does not want to know sex of baby until birth , they have hidden baby's heart rate as they said can identify sex of baby , I though that was an old wife's tale

It is an old wives tale, there’s no correlation between heart rate and sex. If there was two of mine should be boys instead of girls. Perhaps it just stops people from believing the old stories and getting hopes up.
