Maternity allowance

Hi all, I was just wondering if the maternity allowance is backdated from when you’re eligible to claim from the 26 weeks until the first payment is made?

Google tells me earliest payment is from 11 weeks before baby is due. HTH, OP.

29 weeks earliest date to recieve payment.
At 26 weeks you can send off your form but no payment yet even if you start your mat leave early.

If you've already had baby not sure if you can backdate pre baby birth date but it defo won't be pre week 29.
