Bloody show? TMI PICTURES

38+1
Has a sweep yesterday, had a few contractions on and off, but had cramping.
each time I’ve had an episode of cramping/contractions I’ve had snotty bloody globs come out.

If I remember from my first this is a blood show? I’ve been having mucus come out for a couple of weeks but this has been just a pale yellow/clear colour.

There’s also been brown and light pink blobs in between the red bloody ones in the pictures attached.

any stories on how long it took you to go in to labour after your show? I know everyone is different

That does look like a bloody show (though I only saw it once with one of mine). A sweep would loosen it though. Good luck OP. Your little one will be in your arms soon.

Mine was a couple of days after bloody show before labour started. I’m surprised they did a sweep so early, you’re not full term until 39 weeks.

Anonymoususer456 · 16/07/2023 05:40

@PickledScrump They did it due to 3rd episode x RFMs. Not got a follow up appointment though I’m just being left till Friday at the earliest….

@Anonymoususer456 ah ok. Hopefully you’ll have things start up in the next few days

@PickledScrump
I always hear from midwives and friends that you're full term at 37 weeks...

I'm pregnant with DC3, had a sweep yesterday at 38+ 5, experiencing brownish mucus, have 2 more sweeps booked for 20th Jul & the 23rd :)
To avoid being induced..

My friend was offered a c section at 37 weeks and she was told she was full term (health issues hence why the section..).

@SoInLuv Yes me too! 37+ has been considered term.

good luck with your sweeps I hope it works out well for you :) x

I’ve been told they’ll just break my waters rather than use balloon/gel as she would’ve been able to today if she was allowed.

@SoInLuv they used to say 37 weeks was full term, but now they recognise the importance of those last few weeks and it can really help for things like final lung development. 37-38 weeks is now classed as early term, 39 weeks + is full term.

@Anonymoususer456
Morning and thank you!
They said the same to me- 1st they'd break my waters thinking it would be enough.
Ringers crossed no drip this time xxx

@Anonymoususer456
Good luck to you too! Let's update each other :)

Hi! So late to this post, just wondering how OP got on? I’m pregnant with my first baby, currently 38+4. Had my first sweep 38+2 and got this 18 hours later. Haven’t had other signs of labour just back ache which I always have really lol. Is this my mucus plug? Could I be close?

Anonymoususer456 · 21/09/2023 16:16

@Ellbell1234 oh my god, I’ve only just checked this, how are you getting on?
I was losing my plug and was in the start of labour but it faded and I was induced 4 days later to reduced feral movement, I now have a 9 week old!
hope you’re well and all is ok for you!
