I feel as if I’m taking the piss, but honestly wiped out

I am 39 + 3. I fully expected to have a C section last week and I booked DS (2 and a half) in for two full weeks of nursery in anticipation of this. This did not happen and section is now down for Tuesday instead. So I had a full week last week and I’ve done barely anything. I feel so guilty but I’m just absolutely wiped out, in so much pain and discomfort with sciatica, poor sleep and general exhaustion.

I feel like I should be ‘nesting’ but the house is a mess - I’m not sure why I’m posting, just wanting any solidarity/suggestions!

Please don't feel bad, take all the rest you can, you need it! I was the same, full of energy and nesting my first week off, week 37 and then week 38 hit me like a tonne of bricks. Get your feet up and enjoy a nice cup of tea, cleaning the house can wait!

Thank you! I wish I could just enjoy the calm before the storm but it’s stressing me out! 😂

I feel you, but I am slightly behind you on dates at 37+1 with my second.

I pushed myself to clean the house, but I am so so tired. Can't sleep, toddler passed on his cold onto me, so I am waking up every hour either due to hip pain or to pee or because I can't breathe. Honestly, it will be easier with a newborn..
There is still a pile of laundry to put away and I just cannot be bothered with it.

Bless you, I think it's ok to feel the way you feel.
I have never reached the stage of pregnancy you're at (my children were delivered before 37 weeks) I still felt wiped out by the end of my pregnancies so I can only imagine how it is for you still being pregnant at 39 weeks.
Be fair to yourself. You are allowed to be shattered and wiped out. Hope everything goes well for you and baby.

I feel you. In bed for the second day in a row with D&V and I'm 36+4 with a 16 month old. Possibly getting induced on Tuesday if not it will be 26th. House is a tip! I feel rotten.

Feel so sorry for those of you who are unwell! I really wanted to use this time wisely but I do think I probably overestimated how I’d feel.

36+3 and shattered. Baby is huge and I’m struggling with pain and mobility. No idea how I’m going to manage for another few weeks. I feel pathetic as I just don’t have the energy to do more than the bare minimum. Feel very guilty about not doing so much with my three year old but hoping he’s enjoying me watching him play from the sofa 😂

Dear lord no!

I went to nearly 42 weeks with both of mine, and honestly even waddling on the flat to the end of the road took an age, walking upstairs was a 5 minute mission with a rest at the top (thank god I lived in a flat with a lift) - there was no room in there for anything but baby and shallow breaths so OF COURSE you're knackered.

And as to tidying - I could barely reach my knees, let alone my feet or the floor!

TAKE THE BREAK - you're basically a kinder egg with legs and arms right now!

God I feel this post so much.

im 38+ 3 and Jesus wept I am exhausted!!! Simple things like walking the dog just either hurts because of the pressure on my lower stomach or makes me exhausted.

i think its normal to feel guilty when your used to being so active but at this point don't push yourself or over do it.

try to relax as much as poss
