Fundal Height Measurement

Does anyone know anything about this measurement. I'm measuring 34cm at 28 weeks and this seems to be causing medical staff some concern, is it really that big, what should it be? Does anyone know how it works?

ds2 was born at 39+4 weighing 7lb 6oz

or "fundal height" even

It is so unreliable we don't do it. The height should supposedly equal the dates of the pregnancy but invariably doesn't. Do not get too concerned,
