Confused… how many weeks pregnant am I?!

Hi all. As the thread subject says, I’m so confused as to how many weeks pregnant I actually am. Can anyone help me work it out please?!

The first day of my LMP was 14th May. I had a positive OPK on 1st June. I then had a positive pregnancy test on 15th June.

If I calculate how weeks I am based on my LMP, that puts me as 8 weeks 5 days today.

However, I have extremely irregular periods. My last cycle was actually 49 days, in which time I know I didn’t ovulate as I had blood tests to confirm this. Over the last few years my periods have varied anywhere from 35 days to 50 days!

On average, I’d say my cycles have been around 38 days, that puts me as being 7 weeks 3 days pregnant today.

If I use my last cycle (49 days), that puts me at being 5 weeks 6 days.

Which one is it?! I have a private scan booked for tomorrow. I booked it thinking I would be 8 weeks 6 days tomorrow, but if I’m much less than this I may need to rearrange the scan.

Can anyone help a very confused pregnant lady out?! 😂😬 Thank you!

Hi @Stephanie1209 congratulations on your pregnancy xx
I would say, add up about 4 months so for example:
Feb - 30 days
Mar - 41 days
Apr - 35 days
May - 49 days
Total is - 155 days divide by 4 = 38 days average is the cycle.
If you look up the NHS website, 'how many weeks pregnant am i' enter in your last period date and as above (only an example) 38 days length then it will tell you how many weeks pregnant you are.
The above is all an estimate, when you have your scan they'll measure the baby and give you a better estimate.
Hope the above helps xx

They work it out as though everyone ovulates on day 14 of their cycle - so if you got a positive opk I'd count it as roughly 2 weeks before then so count from the 18th of may. It becomes irrelevant at the 12 week scan though as they'll then date from the measurements anyway. It's just annoying as a late ovulator that you get set back a few days/week 🙈
