Job interview when pregnant - has anyone ever been successful?

I hope this is the right place for this thread.

I had a job interview yesterday, for a position that I would really, really like. I'm 4 and a bit months pregnant with my second and don't feel like I am obviously showing yet. They may still have noticed the bump but there were no pointed looks, or even glances, and no one said anything.

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of getting a job following an interview when they were pregnant. Does it ever happen?

Me! Got a very good job promotion at about 22 weeks pregnant. I didn't try to hide it. I hope they see pregnancy as a phase of your life and look more at the long term prospect of you in the role. Very best of luck!

I did! I got hired when they knew I was pregnant. I had also had job offers from other companies, who didn't know for sure but I'd be shocked if they hadn't noticed the bump!

We hired someone at the end of their pregnancy (admittedly in the USA where mat leave is v short). It does happen!

Ah this is encouraging to hear. Thanks for sharing this, and congratulations on the promotions.

I should hear back next week so fingers crossed.

I've now hired 3 people who were pg / on mat leave
Just part of life

I hired someone who was 3 days off their due date. Covered their mat leave with an agency person. She was the right person for the job and worth waiting for.

Yes but I work for the CS and was transferring departments. I applied for the job before getting pregnant, interviewed whilst pregnant (but wearing long flowing things) and was offered the job two days before my due date. Started the role the day my maternity leave finished

Yesss I'm 16 weeks pregnant and everyone at work knew so it was no secret. And I applied for a senior position and got it.

I was really worried obviously but at the end of the day the 6months off or whatever I decide to have will just be a 'blip' in my long term career.

Good luck! Hopefully if your the right person for the job they'll give you it regardless ☺️☺️
