Can I get pregnant just after my period?

Hi! Been TTC for around 7 months now - been having very regular periods and OPKs seem to have been positive around days 16/17. However, my last period I had a strange experience. I always spot a few days before full flow which I did this month. My days of full flow were heavy and around 3 days and then abruptly stopped. I had a lot of EWCM during my period on the last day or two. Me and my other half did what you need to do to get pregnant(!) on the last day of my period. Anyway, on cycle day 8 (around 5/6 days after my period ended) I had bright pink blood (just spotting) for 2 days which then stopped. According to my calendar I'm due to ovulate any day now but my OPKs are all super super negative. Anyone have any clue what could be going on here or experienced anything like this??? I also got a BFN when I tested about a week ago.

It could just be that you didn't ovulate this month - it's not uncommon for women to not ovulate some months (shouldn't happen regularly, but does happen). If your period comes as normal, then I'd just start tracking as normal again next month, maybe using OPKs early to see if you have an early peak next month. You could also have ovulated early, but that would be really early, and seems less likely if I'm being honest. Although this is my personal view (before anyone jumps on me!) - others may have different experiences x

You can get pregnant right after your period it is possible I'm currently 21 weeks with my 3rd after this happening to me 🙈 I had my period from the 13th of Feb till the 18th and on the 19th I had unprotected sex thinking I was safe turns out I wasn't and I'm due baby no3 on the 20th of Nov so the dates are bang on 🤣🤣 I did ask my midwife how was it possible as I have normal 27-29 day periods and she just said sometimes women have the odd cycles where they ovulate early or ovulate late and sometimes we can have a cycle we don't ovulate at all, she reckons I ovulated between the 19-21st which would have been cycle day 7-9

Yes, i conceived the day after my period ended so it is possible.

It's unlikely if you are regularl but entirely possible. Nature always likes to throw a curve ball!

Two of my children were conceived this way (Ididn't twig till third)😄

Thanks everyone for your responses! Maybe I’ll do a pregnancy test in a few days and see what that says. That would be the best outcome! It’s more the cycle day 8 bleeding that’s really thrown me off! My BBT has been consistently high too. Guess if that’s negative I’ll just have to keep doing OPKs and hope I stay regular! I did start taking conceive plus ovulation support this months too so maybe that could have an effect 🤷🏽‍♀️

I conceived my first child a day after my period ended. I didn’t get a positive pregnancy test until my period was 8 days late.

Currently 14 weeks with my surprise! I had a period then last day unprotected sex and my sneeky egg popped early to surprise us (confirmed by scan dates). This is someone who normally has 33-35 day cycles. We thought we were safe! So yes, absolutely possible x

Oh no I’m starting to get my hopes up here 🙈 so happy for you all who got lovely surprises like that though! I just did a test and it was negative but I guess if I ovulated the day I had sex I would be around 11 dpo now 🤷🏽‍♀️

OPKs pick up hcg so they'd show lines if you were pregnant, and generally are more sensitive than pregnancy tests. 11dpo is earlyish still, no temp drop is a good sign. Fingers crossed for you!

Slight UPDATE - took another test last night and it looks kinda positive to me. Went and got two more tests and they both seem negative this morning 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m just waiting for either a positive test or ovulation and seem to be getting neither 😂 . I’ve attached pictures of all three tests.

I know this is a few months old now but wondering how you’re getting on? Trawling mumsnet forums because I have lower back pain and heavy uterus feeling and looking for glimmers of hope that BD on last day of period might have resulted in a sticky one ❤️❤️❤️
