How early could you feel your uterus?

Hello!
I’m just 7 weeks pregnant for the first time and I can very easily feel my uterus, it’s about 4 fingers above my pubic bone and feels like a firm ball. I’ve been able to feel something for the last week and a half!
I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this? And why was it?
I’m going to my first midwife’s appointment next week, I’m wondering if it’s twins! Or a fibroid 🙈
Thanks everyone xx

It never occurred to me to try and feel around my cervix. What are you checking for?

MollysBrolly · 11/07/2023 18:42

Never felt mine before. But before I had eldest I swear it felt like a bone was up my fanny - so bloody uncomfortable and weird

Not cervix! Just your belly but above your pubic bone 🙂

Youre probably feeling your bladder as it sits directly in front of your uterus at this stage. The uterus isn’t a round ball, but the bladder is

Never looked for this or felt for this in either of my pregnancies. Once I have a bump I can see it but before then I don’t really give it a second thought

I’m certain it isn’t my bladder. My sister has had 5 kids and has felt my stomach too, she says it feels just like hers did but at about 12 weeks.

Just in case anyone comes across this thread with something similar- I went for a scan at 8+6 weeks and it ended up that I had been pregnant with twins, but they weren’t where they should be and I miscarried the next day. It was my womb I could feel my womb but it was because of a large fibroid situated right at the fundus. The doctors say the fibroid shouldn’t have been the cause of the miscarriage, or impact future pregnancy.
I wanted to put it here in case it helps someone else in the future x

Also very sorry to hear this. I hope you're ok. 💐

I was going to post that I also had this (a very large, high uterus from early on) and it was twins -- before I saw your sad update.
