Undetected uti’s in pregnancy?

im 24 weeks and just wondering how everyone has coped with the worry of UTIs in pregnancy?

I keep feeling like I have constantly one but the last few dip tests have shown everything to be all clear. Same as when the samples have been sent to the labs, all clear. The only reason I keep feeling like this is because I constantly need to wee and first few wees of the day are always a bit burny …

midwives keep telling me it’s fine and just baby sitting on bladder. I think the reason I am so adamant I have one is because I’m so nervous about it going undetected, especially considering pre pregnancy I would not get symptoms if I did have a uti. I hear all these horror stories about early labour etc and now that I’m at 24 weeks it’s even more of a worry!

my midwife made such a huge deal about it at my booking appointment and how dangerous they are, and how I must take action as soon as I feel anything change. Now I sort of feel scared to go even a few days without asking for a dip test just in case… I said in a previous post I’ve only seen my midwife once in my pregnancy and not due to see her again until end of this month so they’re not really great at reassuring me.

im at the hospital tomorrow to pick something up from the antenatal ward so was thinking about asking there if they don’t mind dip testing and putting my mind at rest, but that’ll only be for a few days or week until I’ll worry about it again!

feel like I’m probably the only one to ever worry about this… just need constant reassurance that it’s just normal pregnancy and not UTI which is really exhausting!

My booking appt urine test showed a uti and I didn't even know I had one because I have no symptoms!! They gave me amoxicillin to clear it up.

Are you drinking plenty of water?

I am drinking 3 litres a day and therefore I also need to wee a lot. I get up a minimum of twice a night and that doesn't include the pre bed wee and the getting up wee!

@CR7 same as me drinking lots of water I think my body retains it all day then decides to let it all go at night as I’ll be up at least 4 times a night!

my body is in a routine now every hour and a half I’ll be up on the toilet having a wee!!! Nightmare….

I feel your pain, I’m currently 19 weeks with an awful uti, this is my second one this pregnancy and I have suffered with them all my life so I’m really resistant to antibiotics! I’m on my second round now but it just never feels like it’s getting better and gp doesn’t seem to care, making me so anxious I’ll go into early labour!
