Morning sickness

Hey 👋🏼
Looking for some ladies out there who's been through similar. So I found out I was pregnant around 3 weeks ago, everything was fine up until last Monday.
I started on Monday night with sickness after I'd eaten my dinner, this rolled into Tuesday of sickness and terrible nausea as the week went on I got bad, couldn't keep any food or drink down, had to have time off work so I went to my GP.
Long story short they gave me anti sickness medication and signed me off work to see how I get on. Now don't get my wrong I'm not vomiting as much on them, however the nausea is very much still there and I'm struggling to touch any food, I don't feel like I have an appetite at all and when I do eat something after 1 small bite I'm feeling full and uncomfortable, my stomach feels so off.
I'm now massively regretting my situation even though this was something I wanted, because I feel so poorly I don't want to carry on like this, I'm fed up already and don't feel myself.
Is what I'm feeling normal?
Any tips?
Will I ever feel myself again, and will my appetite ever come back? 😞
TIA

I promise it gets better. I had it bad for about the first 15 weeks but it does usually get better by the 3 month mark. I had all the same feelings but as your baby grows and you start to feel better the sickness weirdly becomes worth it.
try preggo pops/sweets or anything very sour.. like the really sour chewits. They helped me loads. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Rest as much as possible and drink lots of water when you can stomach it x

There are different anti-nausea tablets they could try you on. You could also try the acupressure wrist bands that are used for travel sickness - some women find they help.

It was normal for me. You have to find whatever it is that helps you in any way. For me it was medication, never going too long before a bite or 2 of food and mainly living off crackers. I also sucked ice cubes because I couldn't keep water down and that sometimes worked.

I’m 14+5 currently and I’ve had awful sickness since around week 7.

I lost my appetite, felt nauseas, couldn’t even look or think about food. Then came the sickness. I’ve been signed off work for ages now. Lost a stone, feel dizzy, weak & exhausted every day.

I’be tried 3 different anti sickness tablets so far. I’m on Ondansetron right now and it’s helping but also causing other of other side effects like headaches and constipation.

Everyone says it’s gets better, I’m still waiting for that for me but hopefully won’t be too much longer!

I feel awful as I'm even considering termination due to how bad I feel. I can't even get out of bed, I'm worrying about money because I can't go to work, I can't even do normal things around the house. It's completely bed ridden me and I don't see how I can carry on like this.

Your not alone , I'm 9 weeks pregnant myself and as awful as it sounds I've also began wondering why I fell pregnant. I've cried so much with how sick I feel every day it's torture. And I'm so miserable there's only a few things I can eat without throwing up. I have midwife appointment on Thursday and I'm guna tell her how all this is making me feel .
Xx

Book a GP appointment, don't wait for the midwife they can't give you anything and will only tell you to speak to the GP.

My midwife was useless, just said "take small sips of water, eat a cracker before you get out of bed and have you tried ginger biscuits"?!

I feel for you all could have written this myself! I’m in the exact same boat I’m 10
weeks this week and for the last three weeks I have never felt so ill 😩.

Constantly no energy, headache and feeling nauseous all day and now I am actually being sick several times a day. Had to have two days off work last week and have had to tell work this week that I am pregnant even though wanted to keep it quiet a bit longer.

Doctor give me cyczeline for the sickness but I still being sick and gagging even with these so don’t think they are helping at all. I’ve got no appetite and when I do eat it’s 50/50 whether I’m gona keep it down or not .. pinched two chips off hubby plate worse mistake ever!

please tell me this gets better! Waited so long for this to happen and now sort of regretting it with how ill it’s making me feel - feel so bad saying that!

@Summer221 I feel exactly the same today haven’t felt so sick or been sick as many times as normal and I’m worried now just can’t win.

@Sunshinevibes91 It’s horrible not knowing when it’s going to creep up on you, can feel ok one minute and then next it will hit you. We’re in this together!

how many weeks are you both? X

Pip1402 · 15/07/2023 00:18

Pregnancy sickness is the worst isn't it. I'm a bit further along now and finally feeling a lot better.

Tiredness has a huge impact on how sick I feel so try to rest/nap as much as you can. Don't overdo it when you're feeling a bit better as this will lead you back to nausea!

Sip on ice cold water throughout the day to stay hydrated and try not to ever let yourself get hungry. Even tiny nibbles on crackers regularly should help.

And remember, this will get easier!

CatNeedsFed · 15/07/2023 00:29

It was a while ago now for me but I remember how awful and relentless it was, like having what felt like (ironically) a constant hangover for weeks. I would rather go through labour than morning (let's face it - all day) sickness again. It's incredibly wearing, especially when you're trying to keep a pregnancy to yourself.

I didn't actually vomit that much and I didn't have HG but it was still pretty much unbearable. I found any tiredness made it even worse so try and rest/sleep as much as possible, pre-emptively if you can. I kept travel sickness bands on all the time, even in the shower (the heat, steam and standing up was no good for me) - they didn't cure it but I noticed I felt even worse with them off.

For me, it started to just lift both times around 12 - 16 weeks. It was amazing and I felt straight back to my usual self. Looking back I think I probably should have gone to my GP as I was really struggling with it at points. I always say DC1 was mostly made of chocolate for 3 months and DC2 was McDonalds drive throughs when DC1 was (briefly) napping.

Sunshinevibes91 · 15/07/2023 16:35
