Digital test gone from 3+ to 2-3 weeks

Hi ladies,

Has anyone had a digital test that has gone from 3 weeks to 2-3 weeks in the space of 24 hours?

i have had 5 chemical pregnancies/ miscarrages and 1 ectopic so i am really nervous and i cant help but think this is another one that hasnt stuck :(

i am six weeks next week and having a scan tomorrow due to my previous history, i have had hcg tests this week and they have been trippling but now the test has dropped i am extremely worried :(

Hi @Magicmeg123 i don’t know much but wanted to put you at ease as I’ve read a few people reporting the same thing.
did you use your first morning urine when you did the test? It could be that your urine wasn’t concentrated enough?
also, the clear blue tests are known to be unreliable after a few weeks. They can’t handle the amount of HCG and report false results.
I’ve also heard about the hook effect.
there’s a number of reasons why this could have happened so I wouldn’t worry. You say your HCG is tripling so that’s a good sign.

Hi @Hopeful588 you was right i think my urine wasnt concentrated enough as i took a test just before and its one back to 3+ :)

I wish they'd ban those tests. They're really unreliable and just mess with people's minds.

@Careerdilemma I agree now, I've just not long ago suffered an anembryonic pregnancy & the nurse at the epu actually said she wishes they were banned, apparently that test is a major cause of phone calls etc at the epu.. Real shame if you are already so anxious about it!

This happened to me 2 weeks ago & I freaked out majorly. I ended up paying for my bloods to be done x 2 at the ivf clinic I'm at.
Turns out my HCG levels where so high the CB freaks out & can often go back.
I actually called CB to discuss this & she said - stop testing, stop wasting your money, stop causing yourself stress' 'she had a lady at 7 weeks test & it was 1-2 weeks.
The weekly detectors are a guide & once hcg goes so high it doesn't really know what to do!
My hcg levels where 12,020 & the. 25,907 2 days later.
So try not to worry x
