Quad test vs combined test

Hi all; so I had my 12 week scan this week but baby wasn't in the position to get NT measurements, she managed to get one which was normal and she said 3 times baby looks normal, NT is normal etc

She's referred me to get the quad test as I couldn't get the combined test because of no NT measurement

I've read a lot about quad test being inaccurate and producing a lot of false positives esp after age 35 - I'm 38

Has anyone recently had a quad test? How long did it take to get results, what were they and did you have any further testing after that? I'm just worried this is going to drag on and on and ultimately baby seems healthy?!

Private NIPT is an option but expensive

Thanks all! Any advise would be great

Hi @suz2285 Just wondering how you got on as I now find myself in this position. My quad came back as 1 in 13, I’m also 38, so now I’m stressed and worried.

@Nemo145 hello... mine came back fine, but I've read so so many stories of it coming back weird and nothing being wrong!

Are you having the NIPT? X

Yes, I’ve had the NIPT. Just worrying waiting for the results now. At my 12 week scan despite not being able to get the measurements the sonographer said “subjectively everything looks fine”. So I was shocked at the 1 in 13 quad screen result.

@Nemo145 yeah it most likely means all is ok, but god the waiting is the absolute worst! I'm sure all will come back totally fine ❤️ keep me updated? Here if you want to talk x

@Nemo145 did you get the NIPT back?

Morning, yes I did. Came
back negative for all chromosome abnormalities. Such a relief. Thanks for asking

@Nemo145 great news! Hope you're doing well x
