11 weeks pregnant and haven’t seen a doctor

Hi all, last week I unexpectedly found out I was pregnant, during a routine GP appointment for a possible UTI my Dr discovered my IUD was mostly out, did a pregnancy test and it was positive and estimated I was already 10 weeks pregnant. GP moved very quickly getting me set up with maternity team.

my 1st booking appointment was due today (11 weeks) but I got a call a few days before saying the midwife wasn’t available so they’re changing it to a phone appointment at 4pm the same day, and that I’d get a call to arrange face to face tests for another day but I never received that call.

So 4pm comes and goes with no phone call, I have no number for the maternity hub but I found it on Google, I called them and got an answer machine saying they closed at 4pm (the time of my appointment?) so I left a message but honestly I’m not expecting to hear back.

im now fretting they’ll cancel my 12 week scan next week at all. I’ve had nothing, my only interaction so far has been with my GP who took the pregnancy test. I’m starting to eat very worried, I have hyperthyroidism and thyroid eye disease, fibroids and I got pregnant with the IUD which means I’m at risk is ectopic pregnancy, I know they’re trying to fit me in very last minute due to finding out so late about the pregnancy, but this is my first time being pregnant and I’m very concerned how it’s going so far.

any advise welcome, even if it’s telling me cam down stop making a fuss!

You don't see a gp for pregnancy. Keep trying the midwife's booking number.

I had the scan at 13+5 and then booking appt the week after due to midwife shortages. The scan needs to happen before 13+6 to do the combined screening tests. I would keep pushing for the booking appt, but worse case scenario go round to the antenatal unit after your scan and talk to them.

Thanks, fingers crossed the scan doesn’t get cancelled, good to know you can have the 1st booking appointment after the scan

btw what does +5 mean?

It's days, 13w 5 days pregnant. Just a shorthand to be precise about how far along you are!

I see! Thanks!

Cab you also try to contact your local early pregnancy unit? I'd have thought they would want to scan you given you'd had a coil in.
