Hello

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and have had an mildly upset stomach this morning, feel sick, have back ache and keep having sporadic braxton hicks sometimes really intense and uncomfortable and sometimes really mild, not in a regular pattern ie I can have 2 in 10 minutes and then nothing for half an hour or more.

Also I have been getting braxton hicks on and off for about 4 weeks so these aren't unusual for me it was just with the other symptoms.

I have bad health anxiety brought on by pregnancy which i dont think is helping and also don't want to waste anyone's time.

Does this just sound like braxton hicks? Am I supposed to contact anyone?

My husband has an afternoon out planned today (a well deserved and long planned one) so im supposed to be looking after our 6 year old and don't want to ruin his day either

sounds normal. Braxton hicks can feel worse if you’re dehydrated so make sure you’re drinking plenty. Some people say BH don’t hurt but I e known lots of people who have had uncomfortable or even painful BH. If you are worried. They increase, get more regular, movements change etc then call triage. But otherwise likely to be just more lovely pregnancy related issues.

My maternity unit have never been interested in my BH. I’ve had them since 18 weeks. Some days only a few an hour, some days every few minutes or so all day long. Got me incredibly anxious at first but I’ve now got used to it.

as long as they’re not rhythmical the midwives have always said it’s nothing to worry about

that said, if you’re worried definitely speak with them yourself!
