First Response POSITIVE, Clear Blue NEGATIVE, I'm so confused!!

Hello 👋

I'm about 11 DPO, I took a First Response Early Result test at 9 and 10 DPO and both came back with a faint positive immediately. I've done a Clear Blue 6 days early test this morning and it came back 100% negative. First Response can get a bad rep for false positives and indent lines, wondering if this is the case? After reading so much about them, I feel like I don't belive the positive result at all. I've been feeling very nauseous over the last few days, have cramps/twinges and sore boobs. I am now starting to wonder if all these symptoms are just in my head and I'm not actually feeling like this? I'm so confused! I've attached pictures of my FRER tests. I'm going to test in a couple of days again but just wondering if anyone has experienced the same with these tests?

I had 5 positive and a negative.. with the midstream wee ones I had to have the right amount of wee, too much wee on it and it show's negative. I get on so much better with the dip ones. Plus it always looked faint on midstream ones for me, but the dip ones were obvious. Then further along I did clear blue weeks one :)

I always bought the easy home hcg dip sticks from Amazon. 9.99 for 20 tests. I would get through a lot 😂 and found them far easier to read and accurate for me. Then once positive I would then buy the pricier one from boots :)

@holmon i personally dont think any brand are reliable when its early. Id just wait until are your period is late and test first morning urine to be sure.

Clear blue isn't as sensitive as a FRER. Your FRER is faint so I'd say give it a few days and test the clear blue after your AF date and it should be positive.

Frer are the most sensitive and I’ve never had an indent on them. Or false positive, which is almost impossible to get tbh.
clearblue are well known for being crap though, they show evap lines so badly and I wouldn’t trust them. Boots own early results are good, but as the frer is so faint it’ll take a few days to show up on other tests.

Some recent batches of FRERs sadly do seem to give indent marks. I was having regular blood tests to check for pregnancy after fertility treatment and I got this test where you can see the line but I was 100% not pregnant. It definitely wasn't a chemical or anything. I was at no point pregnant.
Even though the line is visible it doesn't really have any colour. But it really shouldn't look like that for a total negative.

Update 🙂

I'm due on my period Wednesday, I've just done a clearblue 6 days early test and got a faint line within the 10 minute time-limit. I don't think it looks like an indent or an evap line?

Time did you do this , as you haven’t missed period yet it’s best to do them in morning as that’s when hcg will be highest.

holmon · 10/07/2023 08:56

@Glitterstars I did the test around 8pm

I’d lean towards you are pregnant but always test with morning urine and maybe wait a little bit longer if you can. :)

Definitely test again in a few days OP. Might still be a bit early! X
