I had my baby girl in December 2007 via emergency C section after 18 hours of labour, a failed epidural. I wonder if anyone else had absolutely no information or discussion anti natally about C sections. My midwife just brushed over the subject when I bought it up in month 8. was somewhat traumatised for several months after as I could not beleive I had to have a C section. I would be interested to hear anyone elses experiences. This experience was only made worse as my baby would not breast feed . I find my self unincluded locally as all th eother Mums know each other from the breast feeding support groups.

me too.
however, it was THE best decision for the safe delivery of my baby, for that reason i did not feel traumatied , it outweighed any feelings of loss of control etc.

i had not even considered c section nor had i discussed it with any health professional.
i am sorry you felt traumatised by it, have you gone onto any of the post traumatic distress websites around for people who have had traumatic births?
