HCG drop success stories

This is a long story so I'm going to try and word it so it's short.
I went in for a private scan at 6 weeks and was told I had my dates wrong and I was only 4 weeks. Only saw a ges sac. This was Wednesday. On Friday I went for bloods. HCG came back 4700! Perfect. Monday came around and bloods came back 4600. Not perfect. They'd dropped by 100. Still feeling pregnant and no cramping or spotting I insisted I had another NHS scan a week later. So the next Thursday I had a scan and they saw a yolk sac this time saying there was progression.

On the private first scan I saw another sac which they stated in the report as being a subchorionic hematoma. I was convinced i was having twins from the get go since my symptoms started VERY early. I've had all the signs of twins and my intuition is still telling me twins. On the next scan a week later the second sac was gone. Supposedly then the hematoma had gone and cleared up. If I was right and it was a twin sac could that have been the reason for my slight hcg drop.

I know missed miscarriages are a thing I've had one myself before. I'm just curious if anyone has had a HCG drop similar and it was a positive outcome. I'm very in the grey at the moment not truly knowing if I'm pregnant or not right now. It's stressful and I have to wait another week yet before I have my next scan.

Please positive stories only.. so I know if it's possible thank you 🙏

subchorionic hematoma and twins look different on a scan so I’d think it was very unlikely they confused the two. They said there was progression on the scan so try to hold on to that for now. Being in limbo is the worst. Fingers crossed you get a good outcome

Sorry no positive story but it is extremely unlikely
to have a positive outcome with a drop in HCG sadly, this increase is required for the pregnancy to continue successfully. In my 8 years of working in EPU I have never seen a success story with a dropped HCG.
A twin pregnancy and bleed appear completely different. Early symptoms of pregnancy are just the same in a singleton and multiple, there is no way of knowing from symptoms.
I recently had a singleton and was in hospital with severe sickness at 5 weeks and prescribed anti sickness from 4 weeks. My HCG was 32,000 at 5 weeks hence the sickness.
I’m so sorry this is not what you want to hear but it feels right to be honest.

Hi,

I just wanted to follow up on this and see how you made out? I feel like I’m in a similar boat with stalling hcg numbers but progression in my ultrasound. However, I’m losing hope. What was your outcome?
