Anyone suffered by being overweight/obese whilst pregnant?

I'm currently really fat and under the care of the consultant. I've put on extra weight.

The midwife didn't seem too concerned.

What are my risks?

Ultimately it increases some risks, but doesn't increase them so high that they become 'likely'. The risks are still small, just higher than if you were a 'normal' BMI.

Not much ime, was quite a bit overweight for both my pregnancies and both DC had straightforward births and were healthy. My midwife wasn't bothered in the slightest tbh

Most overweight and obese pregnancies run the same and healthy weight pregnancies. Sadly in my experience it did affect my pregnancy, I ended up with very high blood pressure, SO much extra monitoring and, induction and an unplanned section. That’s not to say that will happen to you AT ALL but that was the reality for me. Of course the high bp may not have been weight related but statistics suggest otherwise!

Two obese pregnancies. Both perfectly fine ❤️

I was 20 stone, no issues except feeling massive!

My first consultant appt was very blunt and straight to the point. He told me how they’ll struggle getting IV access so it’ll delay emergency care, I’m more likely to develop this that and the other and have a PPH. I walked out thinking I must be the fattest person he’d even seen🤣

but other than that, everything else is fine

I had two very normal, straightforward pregnancies while obese. Healthy babies, no problems.
