7+2 pink spotting… terrified

I woke up this morning, went to the toilet and when I wiped I noticed some pinky/brown discharge. No pain just twinges.
I am absolutely terrified that this is the start of a miscarriage. I’ve read all sorts that say it’s normal and some saying not.
Has anyone had this and everything been okay?
I don’t feel as sick as I did my last pregnancies so I have been worried all along somethings wrong

So sorry you're experiencing this, it's such a worry when this happens. I'm a day behind you in pregnancy and have had similar experiences in my other pregnancies so completely understand where you're coming from.

Can you contact your local EPU / midwifery team for advice? Or even your GP might be able to refer you to EPU?

This can be completely normal - they say pink or brown blood is a good sign. If it turns red however, you should try to get seen.

I had this in all 3 of my pregnancies except current one, though I feel like I'm just waiting for it to happen. First 2 were MC and then had my son who's now 2.5. With the first two it very quickly turned to bright red and a lot of pain / cramping followed. With my son there was no pain and it stopped after 48 hours with no explanation/cause found as to why it happened. Advice I was given every time was lots of rest and drink plenty of water. Distraction will be your best friend for a while. It's so hard in these early days 🙁

I know it's also easier said than done but try not to read into your symptoms too much, from what I've seen on here symptoms in each pregnancy can vary so wildly that they don't seem an accurate way of tracking how your pregnancy is progressing.

Here for a hand hold if you need it 💐

Contact your midwife unit and see if they will refer you to epu. I had bleeding at 9 weeks. Mine was red and more than spotting. Went to epu for a scan and it was fine, they said they couldn’t identify the bleeding but it’s likely the placenta had come away a little bit and caused a bleed. I’m not 24 weeks pregnant and she’s wriggling away. My friend had 10 days of very heavy bleeding at 6 weeks and she’s due her baby in a couple of weeks.

Its definitely very worrying, but it can be totally normal and everything be ok. If the epu won’t scan you, you could always look into booking a private scan.

I've had pink spotting about once a week since implantation - I've since seen baby and heartbeat on track and now 7 + 5.

totally get the worrying though - I hate it every time and can't help but think the worse!

definitely contact your gp if you can to talk it through and maybe referral to epu x

Thanks for everyone’s responses - there has been no more bleeding so now feel a bit daft as I have an appointment for a scan with EPU tomorrow!
I am very nervous as still had a few twinges here and there today but clear so… who knows!

Glad you've been able to get a scan booked in, always best to just get checked. I hope your scan goes well tomorrow.

I saw EPU, they scanned and said they can only see a gestational sac and to come back in 2 weeks.

based on ovulation as we were tracking, I didn’t ovulate until CD22 (I had two surges that month) and we were prepared to be told we are a week behind, however, unsure on this… she said it’s 50/50, it’s either too early or it stopped growing.

Ive been booked for a rescan in 2 weeks. I asked f or my bloods doing she said “no as it won’t change anything”

Oh I'm sorry it wasn't quite the news you were hoping for today 🙁

I know these next two weeks until your next scan is going to feel awful for you, but fingers crossed your bubba is growing and the dates are just out.

Our trust doesn't offer bloodwork to monitor HCG levels either via the EPU and it's so frustrating because that would give you more of an indication of what's going on and quicker too.

I have everything crossed for you and your little one 🤞

OP I was in a very similar position to you back in May and I'm hoping you have a better outcome than I did. I started having some pink discharge and went to EPU thinking I was around 6-7 weeks only to be told there was an empty sac and nothing else at that point. I knew my dates weren't that far off and unfortunately by a cruel twist of fate I miscarried that evening after the scan.

Having said that I had bright red bleeding with 2 of my other pregnancies and a lot of brown bleeding with DC3 and all of those were perfectly fine. I'm keeping everything crossed for you!

I am unfortunately expecting the worst, I only had a bit of pink discharge yesterday morning and I’ve had nothing since. It is possible it is just under 6 weeks… But I don’t know, I don’t feel as pregnant as I have done with other pregnancies so preparing myself. The nurse did say that if it was a failed pregnancy I would probably miscarry before my next scan on the 20th July. I had a private scan booked anyway for the 15th so we’ve decided to still attend as it will give us an indication at least prior to EPU. :-(
