Request an induction after previous quick labour?

Hi everyone,

I have 2 kids, my son 11 was born in approx 50/60 mins and my daughter 11 months was born in approx 15 minutes. I am currently 7 months pregnant and have mentioned to the doctors a few times now about being induced and I'm just being fobbed off! I've been told to come soon as I have a pain but I'm so worried I won't make it! I understand it's very early on to be asking and I'm not expecting a date for induction or anything like that. I think I just need the reassurance that it will be possible so I can stop worrying! Has anyone else been in a similar position before and how did it work out? Thank you 😊

I don’t know about induction but DS1 was quick (4hrs start to finish) and they recommended a home birth for DS2.

I was recommended a home birth as I had a very quick labour with DC1 - which is great as that's what I wanted anyway!

I'm sure you'd be allowed an induction if you want one but I'd worry about introducing complications where previously there were none.

Do you have a home birth team? How close are you to the hospital?

I am about an hour from the hospital but that is without taking into account the time it would take to get someone in to look after the kids etc. I was induced on my last as I had GD and all went fine thankfully. Home birth isn't an option here and if it was it would still take a while to get here etc.
