Positive pregnancy test followed by negative test??!!

Hi everyone has anyone ever experienced this? So today around 1pm I took a test which was positive, I wouldn’t call it a faint positive.. I’ll try and insert a photo! And then this evening I tested again and it was negative ?? Any ideas what this could be ? :(

Did you drink a lot or urinate soon before taking the second test? It could be that your urine was too diluted or not given enough time to allow hcg concentration to build up.

Hi it could be because your urine was too diluted to pick up how many days post ovulation are you? I would test again tomorrow with first morning urine x

@PickledScrump @Tahsha I took the second test in the evening maybe around 7.30 so yeah I would have had quite alot of fluids by then.. I will test again tomorrow. I can’t stop searching on google, I’ve seen a lot about chemical pregnancies, I’ve never heard of it before and really hoping this isn’t the case 😞 .. do any of you ladies know much about that?

@Missy1457 a lot of it all depends on how far along you are. If you are testing before your period is due you should only really use the first morning urine as its strongest and not test with any other urine in the day. If you are testing well past your period due date then u can test any time of day. As others said it also depends a lot on how much youve drunk.

@Flowerlover010 thanks for replying! I actually didn’t know this, thank you! I am due AF In 3 days so I will test again in the morning & I’ll keep you all updated 🤞🏻 Keeping my fingers crossed

Generally the tests do tell you to use first urine of the day so hormone is most concentrated. Why not just wait until your period is missed and then test

@Missy1457 yes so you have tested very early and in the evening so i would not worry. Id also try wait until day after your period is due

Im fairly new to it all and been doing alot of reading into it to, its best to do what others suggested and test early in the morning or closer to AF
Sorry dont no much about chemical pregnancies apart from they are common and also give faint positives but fade out fairly quickly which is why some women chose to test after AF iams due x
