Stomach Pain - 2nd Trimester

I'm 19 weeks and I have the absolute worst stomach cramps, it's right at the top of my stomach, it is literally like cramps that come and go every 5-10 minutes I've tried to go to the toilet, that doesn't seem like it did anything, I've tried gaviscon incase it's acid reflux (deffo doesn't feel like reflux) I've taken some paracetamol and nothing is helping and I don't really know what is causing the pain but I'm in agony and I'm kind of scared, has anyone experienced anything similar or know what this could be and how to make it better? Any suggestions are appreciated 🫶

How long have these been going on for?

OnMyJourney · 03/07/2023 17:31

@TulipVictory probably since about 8am this morning

Is it womb area where baby is? If so, maybe contact your local triage? I don't want to worry you but I guess pains that come and go could be contractions so best to rule it out 😊

@TulipVictory I did think about it being contractions, this is my first baby so it's all pretty brand new to me 😅 the pain is like right at the top of my belly, it started more up in my rib cage and slowly worked it's way down to the top of my belly, I was really hoping it was some sort of digestion issue, do you think it could possibly sound like contractions? I'm so scared 😅

Contact your midwife or triage they may want to see you.

I would call maternity triage and seek their advice. It would be worth being seen to make sure all is ok with baby, although it sounds like it's a separate issue to baby. Some people present with gallstones in this way but it's worth ruling out anything pregnancy related first. If they don't ask you to come in and be seen, give 111 a call to get an OOH GP appointment. Hope you feel better soon!
