Hey!

I've taken Paramol today for severe tooth pain (wisdom tooth). Only just realised you shouldn't take them if you're pregnant, which I think I might be. Will take a test this evening to confirm.

Will everything be OK if I am pregnant, or should I mention it to my doctor? Also, what does everyone use for bad tooth pain when you are pregnant?

Thanks!

If you have only taken one you'll be fine. They thin your blood which is why they're not recommended. Paracetamol is fine.

This won't have caused any harm. Paramol contains paracetamol and dihydrocodeine. Paracetamol is fine throughout pregnancy. Dihydrocodeine is safe to take in pregnancy but only recommended for short periods and not in the third trimester due to baby potentially having withdrawal symptoms when born (obviously this doesnt apply here). The dihydrocodeine dose in Paramol is also a low dose. I
think you will be ok in this instance but if you can get a telephone GP appointment or advice from a dentist, they can tell you what they'd recommend doing.
