Early pregnancy and due to start new job

Hi, looking for a bit of advice if you have been in a similar position or any advice really - I am 9 weeks pregnant, due to start a new job in a couple of weeks with my first scan booked for the week after. I haven't told anyone other than my partner as we would like to make sure the scan is OK before doing so. When would you tell the new employer? I will obviously need to come up with an excuse to have the scan appointment off at least. I have a long probationary period and understand I won't be entitled to maternity pay but also don't want to cause an inconvenience to my new employer. TIA.

I think tell as soon as you feel you want to once starting 😊you can wait all the way till the legal requirement if you wanted to or if you feel comfy sooner

Is there anything risky about your job that means you would need to change how you worked? If there is, I would tell them so they can do a risk assessment and make changes, but otherwise I would wait until after the 12 week scan.
