9 weeks - no sign of booking appointment?

NC for this due to it still being early days!

I’m 9 weeks pregnant and have yet to hear anything about my booking appointment. No contact at all from the midwife yet. The phone number for the relevant community team doesn’t connect, or ring Hmm

The thing is, I’m booked to go on holiday at the end of next week and I’ve calculated that by the time I’m back, I’ll be almost 13 weeks, which has me worried for the necessary blood tests, scan etc. when I haven’t heard anything at this stage.

I managed to get through to the hospital antenatal office last week who promised to email the midwife. No contact from anyone. Called the office again yesterday (Tuesday) and they eventually, after some digging, discovered the midwife I’ve been assigned is on sick leave! Promised to email the wider community team to get me booked in with someone. Still no response, almost two full working days later (I called in the morning).

Do I chase again tomorrow? I really want to have this appointment before I go away, and to know the scan is booked for when we’re back. What do I say to really make the case? Is there an alternative I can push for, such as a hospital-based appointment if the community team is apparently so incapable? I’d be willing to do that even though the midwives are based out of my usual, local GP surgery Shock if it meant I could have the appointment.

This happened to me because my GP surgery lost my referral form 🙃 it meant that I was 12 weeks when I had my booking appointment and 14+1 when I had my dating scan.
Definitely chase it up, see it whoever you speak to on the phone can sort you an appointment there and then.

I was worried about this but the secretary on the phone said she could see I was in their system, so that’s a good sign I hope!
