16 weeks pregnant and banging headache

I've had the worst banging headache for a couple of days now. I took my blood pressure and it was slightly high so I rang the hospital to be sure. The consultant said they weren't concerned and told me to keep taking it every day to check it didn't get any higher. However, I still can't shift this headache and its making me miserable already! I've had paracetamol and 4head and it hasn't really touched the sides. Has anyone else experienced this around the same time? Any tips? Sorry to moan!!

Sorry you're feeling under the weather OP.

Are you eating and drinking enough? I recall having this when I was about 13/14 weeks pregnant with my first and the midwife told me to increase my water intake. I was already drinking around 2L which I thought was plenty and she said increase to 3L gradually over the course of a week or so. She also told me to eat something like a digestive or crackers, etc between meals. I can honestly say that once I started doing both of those things my headaches went away.

I had really bad headaches around the same time but found a coffee a day stopped them.

I had this with both pregnancies at the same time, midwife said it’s just hormones

I’ve had pounding headaches recently. I think it’s partly because my sinuses are so bunged up. I suffer with hayfever anyway, but it’s so bad this year. I’ve bought a saline solution nasal spray, and I’m spending a lot more time indoors in front of a fan 😕
I have found that the warm weather has made me incredibly thirsty too, so I’m making sure I have a bottle of ice water with me at all times.

Thanks so much for all your replies! I'm drinking lots of water and consequently can't stop going the toilet 😂 I think I didn't eat much yesterday as I felt so rubbish so going to try eat more today and definitely try a coffee!
