i found out at my 12 week scan the baby stopped growing at 9 weeks . I wanted a surgical removal but they had none available until next week so today had misoprostol.
I had it at 9 am and started contracting and bleeding around 12 . The clots are huge like 2 to 3 inches and so might of slowing down . Is this been your experience ? How long did this amount of bleeding last ?

Sounds normal. I had contraction like pains a few hours after the pills and lost lots of tissue. Bleeding was heavy for 24 hours then settled down.

sorry for your loss

Thank you . That’s good for reassurance . Did you need a second dose or did you pass it all ( if it’s ok to ask )

For me no, I had to have surgical management and that didn’t work so had to have another surgical management.

It works for the majority of people though.

So sorry for your loss Op, it’s an awful thing to go through. Sounds very similar to my experience last year, I passed everything from the dose of mifepristone first, and was advised to take the dose of misoprostol anyway. Nothing happened from taking the second dose as everything came out with the first. It was painful and lots of clots for 24 hours, then went to a light bleed for about a 7-10 days. A scan at 14 days after confirmed nothing had remained.
wishing you all the best, it’s a very hard time x

thank you , I hope it’s the same . I actually feel a bit scared as if I sneeze or cough blood and clots just gush out . I hope it’s only one day as I can’t do anything at all

Sorry for your loss OP. I had medical management at 12 weeks. Sounds normal to me also. Note, that the pills can cause a fever, red flushed face, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting. These are just side effects of the pills which will resolve very soon- they aren't necessarily signs of an allergy to the meds which some people think.

I hadn't been told what to expect after. I bled for 3mths and was unaware this wasn't normal, or that I should have been told to do another pregnancy test. When the bleeding finally stopped, a period started the week later which was the heaviest I've ever had. Out popped a small piece of pregnancy tissue! I had no signs of infection, fevers etc and a scan showed everything was gone after that. I did alot of reading afterwards, which showed that the body will try to expel any left over products- even if it takes a few cycles!

I've since had 2 MC's. Generally, the bleeding and pain should ease this evening and tomorrow for you. Sorry this is long, but just to note that doing a repeat pregnancy test in about 2 weeks is recommended.
