Alternatives to bio oil

I’ve been using bio oil in the hope it will ward off stretch marks, but just realised it contains retinol despite marketing itself towards pregnant women. Does anyone have any recommendations for a more natural alternative?

Weleda stretch mark cream (has very similar ingredients to their perinium massage oil).

Bio oil has quite a few problematic ingredients. I wanted to tested it for my son a few years ago but a closer look at the ingredients out me off.

Thank you, I’ll have a look at that. I wish I’d taken the time to read the ingredients properly before I started using it.

The burts bees mama body oil is excellent and a weirdly good price.

I used sweet almond oil, its the main ingredient in that Weleda cream, you can buy a full litre of it for about £8.

I loved the Mama Mio range!

I used Body Shop coconut body butter every day. Not a stretch mark in sight

Thanks everyone , I’ve ordered the burts bees oil and currently on the mama mio website looking at their tummy rub cream 😊

The mama mio tummy butter is lovely and smells amazing. Nothing will stop you getting stretch marks as it’s in the deeper layers of skin that oils and creams don’t penetrate. But they can help with itching and tight feeling.

Superdrug do their own version of bio oil called skin restore which doesn’t have retinol in.

Oh shit why can't you use retinol? I used bio oil and mama mios throughout my last pregnancy and was absolutely fine and no stretch marks

Bio oil doesn't contain retinol. It contains retinyl palmitate which is vitamin A
