Bump at 7 weeks????

I'm 7 weeks 1 day and is this bump or just bloat would people say? This is my second child so confused because with my first I didn't show at all until around 12 weeks?

I would say it’s mostly bloat but I do hear you start to show earlier after your first! I am 5+1 weeks with my 2nd and I think if I wasn’t wearing baggy clothes, people would suspect I am pregnant already because the bloat is crazy!!

To be honest I believe it's bloat. It is true you can start to show earlier but I don't know if you can have a proper bump at 7 weeks. I'm on my third pregnancy, 18 weeks but nothing obvious yet bump wise

You show a lot earlier as all the muscles have already been relaxed in previous pregnancy. 3rd pregnancy I was in full maternity gear by 3 months!

Garman · 26/06/2023 20:17

It physically can’t be a bump at 7 weeks, it’s bloat.

PickledScrump · 26/06/2023 21:28

Definitely bloat, I looked huge at 4 weeks with my second as I bloated so badly.

BagelO · 26/06/2023 22:53

I am similar timings and just so bloated. It hurts to breath inwards in the afternoon!

I'm 6 weeks and have a bump like I had at around 14 weeks in my first pregnancy, my jeans don't fit anymore. I could feel them getting tighter from when I found out at 3+3! I know it's not going to be baby but growing uterus, bloat and muscles relaxing but I am honestly panicking about twins because I feel like complete shite, like I'm a deaths door, I got a bfp at 8dpo, compared to 11dpo with my daughter. I'm going for an early scan to be reassured there's just one in there!

8 weeks and bump big enough to try and hide it! Second baby, was already carrying extra weight that was challenging my current collection of clothes. Now left with 1 dress and t-shirt over unbuttoned jeans 🤦‍♀️ trying to find maternity clothes to hide bump not show it off!

I was showing around that time with my second. Sounds crazy but he was a big baby (11 pounds) so think thats why.

They pretty much all grow at the same rate until around 12 weeks, which is why your due date is based on the 12 week measurements.
A baby at 7 weeks is only 1cm long so it’s not possible to show as a bump at that point. The size of the baby at birth is irrelevant.

Interesting... in the country I live in due date is not based on 12 week measurements.

This. The embryo is about 1cm now, it's not possible to have a bump.

He still would've been around 1cm at that stage, regardless of birth weight.

By 12 weeks with my second I had a fairly decent sized visible bump. Thank god I didn't first time round as we took ages to tell family and friends as they all lived so far away.
Definitely showed a lot quicker and more obviously earlier second time around
