My DD has tonsilitis and has started antibiotics this morning. do I need to keep her away from baby? It says online tonsilitis isn’t contagious but virus that causes is like cold/flu etc can be?

Realistically you aren't going to be able to separate them, and you will always be going between them anyway.

Think this is just one of those perils of second children! Just obviously don't let her cough or splutter on the baby and wash hands regularly.

Not much else you can do!

New born will be fine though, if you are breastfeeding you'll already be making antibodies just from exposure to the original virus your DD had.
