C-section after vaginal births

Hey all,
There might be other threads on this but i thought I would make my own..

I'm currently pregnant with my 4th baby. I'm 16 weeks.

My last pregnancy in 2021 was vaginal birth as with my previous pregnancy in 2014 and 2008.

However my 2021 birth was different. My son came out at 9lbs6oz which took me by surprise. Whilst in labour my son goes stuck in my pelvis and was diagnosed with shoulder dystopia(spelling might be wrong) this resulted in me jabbing a 3rd degree reat back to front and I was rushed to theatre.

Now in this pregnancy I am under so much specialist. They have cladded this pregnancy high risk because of previous birth..

I have been told that giving birth vaginally could result in complications.

Has anyone decided to have a c section after 3 vaginal deliveries.

I'm actually petrified

Thanks

Not the same as you but I've had 2 births and 3rd degree and then instrumental with episiotomy. If I had a 3rd I would 100 percent go for a section.

1st delivery was forceps in theatre, 10lb 11, episiotomy.

2nd I had a section because baby was breech and big. Was supposed to be elective, but DS2 wanted out, my waters broke at home just before 39 weeks. I had been petrified of having a section, but it was really ok honestly. DS2 was 10lb 6, so I'm very glad I first try a breech delivery with him!

yes. first baby was vaginal delivery. Induced, due to pre eclampsia. very very long labour. Epidural, 2nd degree tear (not that bad I guess) but just not a positive experience overall.

second pregnancy they were keen for me not to go overdue due to pre eclampsia risk. I decided I wouldn’t be Induced again so had an elective section

best decision ever

Thanks for all your responses.
I'm actually scared but I would prefer c section rather then having a 3rd degree tear or worse.

What was recovery time after c section?
