Ketones in blood second trimester

i woke up and tested and found 1.1 ketones. Over the last few days mornings have been like this. But ketones are fine by the time I go to bed. I wake early to take insulin to avoid dawn phenomena. But also saw this is happening and I don’t know how to prevent it. I have to email my nurse/midwife but who knows when I’ll hear back.

how do people know stuff that’s to come in pregnancy with type 1? I feel like I’m all alone and not receiving proper care needed.

at my hospital, the diabetic doctors don’t even see me at all. After 20week scan the next person I see is at 32 weeks with obsgynae. Is this even right?! It’s a long time to not be seen as a preg diabetic or is it just me? What’s it like at your trust?

I have no advice specifically about type 1 but you definitely should be getting specific advice about parameters you should expect and who to contact if not. If this is ongoing and you haven't heard back from your midwife then I would contact your maternity triage line for advice. In my area there are specialist diabetic midwives that you would be referred to at booking. Failing this if you are struggling to get anywhere I would contact GPs tomorrow and see if they can get in contact with a diabetes specialist nurse.
