No signs of labour. Feeling very emotional

Baby will come when she's ready but I naturally feel emotional and sad right now.

40+1 and it doesn't help how the uk is hot right now 😂

If I was getting signs things are progressing or signs my body is preparing I would feel a lot better.

However I have nothing at all, no symptoms other then occasionally the odd period pains! Very strange!

3rd baby and with the other two I had strong symptoms which were reassuring. Just don't know why this time it's been almost like I'm not pregnant!

when I was pregnant with my third, my midwife kept telling me that third babies are tricky ones. Mine kept me waiting for weeks, she was finally born at 40+18! I had SPD so couldn't really walk much by the time i got there, was very glad to finally get it over with.
I'm assuming you have the biggest symptom of a massive bump though? Not much fun in the heat, I hope you aren't waiting too much longer. Were your other two late?

Oh no spd is awful! How was your labour with 3rd baby?

This is my biggest baby estimated over 8lbs when my other two were both 6lb3! I thought it would be more uncomfortable this time very strange!

First was induced and came at 39+6
Second I had a bad infection so baby decided to come at 37+5 weeks! Xx

ohhh that's tough if you haven't gone overdue before! All mine were late to varying amounts so at least I was prepared for that. Time goes soooooo slowly when you are waiting for a baby.
mmy third was also massive - 9lb 4 compared to 7lb something for the other two! Very easy quick labour, all over and done with within 3 hours, had her at home in a birthing pool. I felt like it was my easiest birth although all of them were fine. No stitches or tears. We ended up in hospital later that day because she developed jaundice and while that was tough in its own way it probably helped me hugely because all I could do in hospital was rest and feed her - no running around after the other two!

3rd babies are a pain 😂
My first two were a week early, third a few days late. Hopefully not much longer! Good luck op xx

Feeling emotional was one of the signs I was about to go into labour... 🤞

frayble · 25/06/2023 06:53

I had mine on Monday at 40 weeks and I honestly didn't have any signs of impending labour - my waters went at 9pm on Sunday night after a day of dog walking and house renovation projects 😂 it really took me by surprise as I expected to have some symptoms at least during the day!

Keeping fingers crossed it's soon for you!

Congratulations!! Apparently being active can really help! It's weird tho having no signs when that's what we rely on for hope our bodies are preparing! Thank you xx

I'm only a day over so far so I don't know why I feel like this! I think maybe if I had more signs of labour was nearby or my body was preparing I'd feel a lot better I guess.

At this rate it feels like I could go up to 50 weeks 😂

I heard bigger babies are easier to deliever, was your third the easiest? 9lb4 is a amazing size! I bet the water birth was a great experience!

My midwife told me I can't birth in the pool at hospital because I have a high bmi what a bummer it's not even that high! X

Has your midwife started to talk about sweeps and inductions? I feel for you- I went overdue 10 days in the 2019 heatwave and it was awful.

I had a sweep at 39+6 weeks so nearly 48 hours ago and no luck! Due to have one again Wednesday. I wouldn't mind as much being overdue IF I had some signs I was close but I have 0 symptoms so weird x

@highheavenn eurgh! Good luck! Sweeps are 50/50 at best. I had two sweeps ans an induction booked for the day after my waters burst.

Hope all goes well!

This is how I felt with my second a few weeks ago, when I got to my due date I didn’t feel near the end at all!
Despite hearing ‘they’ll come when they’re ready’ often, I did opt for a sweep at 40 weeks and then induction at 41 weeks as nothing was progressing really. I was Googling ‘how long is the longest pregnancy’ while in hospital (this did not reassure me as interestingly it was over 12 months!!) 😂
I ended up opting for c-section as the induction wasn’t working, and even then he tried to turn away as they were pulling him out, some babies are just very comfortable in there!

I would say try to relax but know it’s not that easy, make use of the paddling pool if you’ve got one. Fingers crossed they arrive soon for you! Xx

Mischance · 25/06/2023 08:42

All mine were weeks late ... I agonised about it first time and just went with the flow with the others. It will happen.

Aww he was turning away when they pulled him out! That's cute in a way how is babies character? This baby seems very quiet and chilled but could be the opposite when she comes haha!! Thank you xx
