Hey, hoping I can hear other people's stories to help stop me worrying! I had 2 early miscarriages in a row a few years ago. I am now 4 weeks pregnant and I can't stop worrying about the same thing happening again.. has anyone been in a similar situation and gone on to have a healthy 3rd pregnancy?

Hi,
I had a miscarriage after two healthy babies and then went on to have lovely baby girl . . . Who is now 14 and not so lovely 🤣😂
Like you I was worried sick when I fell pregnant with her, but a scan at 9 weeks put me at ease.

I'm now expecting baby no 4 with my new partner, I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow and I'm so anxious about it all going wrong 😢 just want to get to 8 weeks and a scan to soo a lovely beating heart.

Sending you lots of luck, im sure everything will be ok 🍀🍀🍀

Oh OP, so sorry you're feeling this way!

I had 2 first trimester miscarriages around 3/4 years ago. I got pregnant a third time 2 months after my second miscarriage and that baby is now 2.5 years old and is currently pulling all of his toys out onto the floor! I was so anxious that entire pregnancy thinking the same thing would happen but he just kept holding on, I totally get where you're coming from.

I told my midwife how I was feeling and I got referred to Healthy Minds for CBT which helped me massively, and I also had a weekly check in with a Midwife who specialised in mental health for Mums to be which also really helped. This was right up until I gave birth and she even came to visit me on the post labour ward. Definitely have a conversation with your midwife to help work through your anxiety and go easy on yourself.

I'm currently 5+4 pregnant again and I don't feel too bad at the moment. I know there will be times anxiety makes an appearance again and I just need to be prepared for those times. I keep telling myself that worrying won't change the outcome and I refuse to let anxiety rule what will hopefully be my last pregnancy🤞

Wishing you all the best OP for a smooth pregnancy this time 💐

Thank you so much for replying to me, as much as it's sad so many people go through it, it's comforting to know people feel exactly the same and have been through similar! So happy you got your girl and I pray everything goes smoothly for this pregnancy, I'm sure it will! Are you feeling many pregnancy symptoms at the minute?x

I'm so happy you got your healthy 3rd pregnancy, it gives me hope that mine will go the same way🤞🏽 as much as we know it's common it's still hard not to question ourselves as to why 2 happened in a row but I just keep telling myself that it's a different pregnancy and it doesn't mean it will go the same way!
I definitely will mention it to my midwife, I have my first appointment on 31st July where I'll be 9 weeks so I'm just praying everything's all okay.. it's that dreaded going to the toilet and seeing blood even though I know everything feels fine!
Congratulations on your current pregnancy! I'm sure everything will be all fine, but like you say we can't let anxiety get in the way of enjoying it as worrying won't change the outcome so we've just got to enjoy every day of the journey, although easier said than done🤦🏽‍♀️😂
I really appreciate you sharing your story with me x

Hi, I had a healthy baby and then two losses at about 8 weeks.

My next pregnancy was mentally tough but he made it!

First three months were the worst and when I got to 8 weeks I was a mess. The midwife called to ask to book me in and I refused and burst into tears, I lost one baby the night after I had booked in.

I want for a scan at 8 weeks and all was fine. In fact good news as I was ahead of my dates - best news ever!

All my scans were on my own and that was tough. I was high risk and had scans right upto the end. I think my anxiety only started to get better once I go to 28 weeks and started the regular midwife appointments.

Confide in your midwife - my midwife offered to see me more at the later stage

@Victoria04

Yeah a few symptoms, I'm absolutely exhausted feel like I could sleep all day, boobs are aching and on and off painful, feeling a bit nauseous today but it settles if I eat something. I've also had some mild cramping and stretching feeling which I know is completely normal as I remember having them with my first 3.

I've just booked a reassurance scan for 17th of July, I'll be 8+2 by my dates and now I'm terrified I've jinxed it and I'll miscarry. I keep thinking at 38 my age is against me xx
