I'm fully effaced but only 1cm dilated?

This is strange as I can't find much about this online! Is this normal?

Yes it’s normal. Your cervix will usually fully efface before it fully dilates. Effaced is basically just thinning and dilating is opening. What are you searching for as there’s a lot of information about it online. Try typing something like “effaced vs dilated”

you can be fully effaced for a while before labour happens though.

Absolutely normal. It's great you're fully effaced, it's good sign.
