Hi all,
I am 34 weeks, had some anemia through life, but managed to control it with pills from time to time.
Now I am 34 weeks pregnant and my last blood test showed low iron, droped to 4.5 while normal is ( 9-20).
My feritinine and hemoglobin (115) are good.

Tomorrow I will visit doctor but not sure should i be concern, can this low iron affect my pregnancy outcome? Usually they care only about hemoglobin but my situation is weird where my iron is low, but hemoglobine still good.

I have the same, low iron but good haemoglobin.

No one is worried, it's normal to have lower iron later in pregnancy due to the massive increase in blood volume and 8 months of baby taking what they need.

I'm just taking iron bisglycinate every day and going ahead with my home birth.

If the midwife isn't concerned or hasn't said you need supplements etc then I wouldn't be worried
