Strange feeling when weeing ???

Heya

21 weeks tomorrow and all of a sudden have developed this really strange feeling when I go to the toilet. It’s almost like my urine doesn’t come out as quickly as it used to…

called triage who said that it doesn’t sound like uti or anything to worry about just probably baby getting bigger and sitting on bladder.

just wondering did anyone else experience this?

Yes, I think this is normal - it's like you feel desperate to go but then it just comes out really slowly?!

I assumed it was just due to baby taking up space, changes to pelvic floor etc. There's a lot going on in that area

Absolutely and if I haven’t gone for a wee for a while I get muscular like cramps across my tummy when I do wee which I have only ever had when pregnant so assume it’s to do with uterus pushing on bladder and muscles/ligaments being stretched or something.

@Spottypineapple yep!! literally what I’m experiencing now! I didn’t have a bump for quite some time and seem to have popped this week all of a sudden so I assume baby has just got big and like you now less space etc.

sort of get a dribble at the start and then when I do finally start weeing it just seems to come out so slowly!!!

I have this! Have had a few UTI tests - nothing. At each scan I’ve asked the sonographer if she can see anything - nothing. I think it is just the way the baby’s lying. I felt some kicks today (I’m 21w) and they were lower down than I was expecting. I think it’s ok, but I do need to get on with pelvic floor exercises soon I know! 😆

I got this in my first pregnancy, sounds weird but I found holding my bump up seemed to straighten things out and could wee a bit easier. I even remember a period of time around 22-24 weeks when I just got into the shower to wee standing up as couldn't seem to get going sat down!

I remember this happening to me and it got worse towards the end of the pregnancy! 🤦🏼‍♀️

My midwife told me to lean back on the toilet so my bump wasn’t pressing down on me sitting and also the further on i got i found lifting my bump slightly also helped 🙂

Yeah I’ve had this since about 20 weeks too! I find leaning over to the left and taking the pressure off my right hip helped me to empty my bladder fully. Otherwise it felt a bit pinched when I tried to go. Definitely sounds similar.
