Hematoma during one pregnancy, will it happen again?

I'm pregnant with baby 3 and had no issues with my first then developed a Hematoma at 13 weeks which resolved by 18 weeks with my second.

What is the likelihood of another with this pregnancy? For context, I'm around 5/6 weeks pregnant.

Thanks 🤞🏼

I'm pregnant for 2rd time. Both of my previous pregnancies ended in MC, both had ScH. In my 2nd the haematoma was >3 times the size of the gestational sac.

This week I'm 7w + and have had an early scan at EPU. CRL, heartbeat and everything else looking exactly as it should. A very small area of bleed seen but not even material enough to be noted on the scan report.

I'm taking each day as it comes, not assuming anything, but at this point more positive than both previous pregnancies.

Sorry - I don't know the answer to your question about probability.
'They' don't seem to know much about causes (or best treatment).

Thank you for commenting @Whataretheodds. I really hope all goes well for you! Are you trying to restrict heavy lifting/pelvic rest etc? I found orange juice or foods high in Vitamin C helped mine resolve 🤞🏼

Thank you. I didn't at all in PG1 and it didn't seem to make a difference. I did to a degree in PG2 (although EPU said it wasn't recommended any more) and it didn't make a difference.

Did you restrict?

I have a good vitamin C intake anyway.

@Whataretheodds Yeah I went on pretty strict rest at 13 weeks and the bleeding had stopped by 18 weeks. The private scan confirmed there were no signs of it 🙏🏼

@mumtotwox who advised the strict rest?

mumtotwox · 23/06/2023 11:26

Nobody, I just decided 😊

I'm eating almost constantly because of nausea. If I try to stop moving even though it's not medically indicated then I'll be the size of a house in 6 months.
