29 weeks pregnant and painful contractions

I have just experienced weird contractions, felt like my whole bump tightening, it lasted about 30s, had them twice in 5 min. I don't remember having things like that with previous pregnancies, they were very strong and made me cry. My bump is big, baby painfully active and now this. Having midwife appointment on Wednesday will mention it. Also feeling very heavy between my belly and chest, it's like felling high and then relaxed down...it's hard to describe. I'm not out of breath, not sure it could be something to do with blood pressure, with all midwife and hospital checks my pressure was fine so far. A bit worried as I'm 42, on aspirin which should prevent things like that. I'm generally fit and healthy, not overweight, but my bump is really big and weights on me. Anyone had similar experience and how did it go?

Don’t wait another 2 days OP, contact the maternity unit on your notes now and see what they say.

Please contact your maternity triage now OP! The fact that this is something you've never experienced before is all the more reason to get in touch!

Go now. They can try and stop labour if it's in its early stages.

Definitely don't wait! Ring your maternity unit and tell them exactly what you're feeling and ask to be checked over.
I had my baby girl at 27+6 weeks after having contractions which I thought were just Braxton hicks. Please please ring! Xx

I personally wouldn't be waiting 2 days to be checked, even less so given your age. Ring the number on your notes as the above poster says, they may ask you to pop in to be checked. If you think something isn't quite right always go and get checked.

Agree with pp’s even if it’s nothing it’s not worth the risk. I did have this with one of my children and turned out to be an untreated uti. Get checked out

Thank you all for advice. I only had those 2 tightening contractions around 9 pm, feeling fine since, baby moving as normal. Will monitor overnight and if it start to happen again will call them.
