Last night I went to the MAU as I was getting what felt like mild period cramps for a number of hours. They feel like little squeezes and are not that painful really, but they’re definitely there. They’re intermittent but I don’t think they have a pattern.

I was given every test in the book - CTG for nearly an hour (MW said at first it showed possible contractions but then nothing), cervical exam, checked my abdomen twice, Doppler etc. I was told that I could go home and to call if they got worse but not to worry if they stayed the same.

Thing is that was about 14 hours ago and the thing is I’m still getting the cramps!

Has anyone had these and got an explanation for them?

I could call again but I can’t imagine anything has changed since last night…

Hi, @Al991 I’m having a similar experience at the moment and wondered what the outcome was for you? Xx

Braxton Hicks? Could be these normal practice contractions women get - mine started around 7 months. But I would still tell your midwife.

Thank you both ❣️

You know, as 8 months rolled in, my Braxton Hicks got pretty strong, some hurt a bit, but I will say that the morning I was woken up with real contractions 2 days past my due date, it was bloody obvious. Most women have zero doubts when they are in actual labor.

Good luck to you and hope all goes well with baby!
