Giving birth

So it's a bit early but I'm thinking about the birth already.

I had an elective c section with my last baby. Will it be possible to go for another elective? I think I'd prefer this tbh instead of having to go naturally or be induced and possibly end up with an emergency section.

Do they encourage you to go for an elective after you've previously had one or will they try to get me to go naturally?

Depends on the reason for the first ELCS really. A lot of health professionals will encourage you to aim for vaginal birth but if you are sure you that you would like a second ELCS then you can be firm and state that at your booking appointment.
They are duty bound to refer you to a consultant to discuss it and then get you booked (this could potentially happen 2nd/beginning 3rd trimester).
It is within NICE guidelines for all women to have access to maternal request ELCS so if the consultant you see is reluctant to agree then ask for a referral to another obstetric consultant that will do it (this is in the guideline). The fact that you have had a previous section means they are less likely to persuade you into vaginal delivery.
All the best with the pregnancy and birth!
