Positive pregnant test then a period

Took a pregnancy test and got a faint line to which most people said that was a positive. Next morning I got my period, has this ever happened to anyone. I'm so confused.

Did you do more than one test? May have been an evaporation line.. I had a chemical pregnancy last month so know how you feel, just need to stay positive for next cycle 🙂

The could be either an evaporation line, a chemical pregnancy where the embryo failed to develop properly very early on or it could be an implantation bleed. Wait until your bleeding stops and test again. If the line has got stronger, it could have been an implantation bleed. If it's weaker or absent, it was likely a chemical pregnancy or evap line.

This feels like more of a 'period' than maybe an implantation bleed. But yes I will test again once I stop. Thanks for the info ☺️

I could see a little colour in the line. Not saying it isn't evap though, probably is maybe it's just a faulty batch of pregmate. I did do another one not long after that and it didn't show second line at all. Next morning I got my period so couldn't test.

I got what I 100% thought had to be a period the day after I got my first faint (but not that faint) positive test. I had read all the info about implantation bleeding but assumed it would happen before the positive test and it would be a lot lighter. Most of the things I was reading said it would be more like spotting, this was just exactly like the first day of my period, my pad was completely covered in blood. It was at Christmas and we were on a family weekend away. We’d been trying for a while by then so I was walking round Christmas market stalls thinking I was having a very early miscarriage and was going to be back to square one, while a tiny part of me was clinging onto the hope it might not be. I had almost completely ruled out any possibility of it being okay until I went to the toilet late at night and there wasn’t any new blood on the pad. During the night I woke a few times (probably with the anxiety of not knowing what was happening) and by the morning I was back to clinging onto hope that it might actually be okay! My husband was sent to boots very early for another test, which was positive again but not much difference to the previous day’s. I then just had to wait it out to see what would happen.

Baby girl is due in 8 weeks time! It was some sort of weird implantation bleed 😅

My implantation bleeds were exactly like my normal periods.

Follow up... Hey..had my period for 3 days usually for 5 days in total. Not this time though. It was a very heavy flow literally had to change every couple of hours. More intense cramps too. Also did another test and no second line is showing. It must have been chemical for sure.

This happened to me before we conceived our second. Positive pregnancy test and then bled two days later - it was a chemical. It really does affect you mentally so take care of yourself xx
