currently 17 weeks pregnant with dc2 and can’t stop eating. I didn’t have many cravings with dd apart from ice lollies but I was anaemia then. I’m currently craving cucumber sprinkled with salt and cold fresh orange juice with ice…I had a litre of this yesterday 😳 what are your cravings? And are they different with subsequent pregnancies

My cravings tend to last a few days to a week, then I can barely look at that food again! With my daughter, I briefly craved bagels with cream cheese, spicy nicnacs, turkey and stuffing sandwiches, mince pies, porridge, stewed apples, carrot sticks and granny Smith apples and roast dinners

This time, so far it's been really hot curries (turn my stomach now!) babybels, yogurt, dark chocolate and cans of cherry coke or Dr pepper

Mine was chicken curry on my second pregnancy. No cravings on my other ones

With my dd, after going off most foods for the first few months, the only thing I really craved was thick milkshake (so much so that dh drove out to McDonalds to get me one a few times!)

With ds, I didn’t crave anything in particular - I was just hungry ALL the time!

Mine with both DS was fresh grapefruit juice in quite large quantities and toasted tea takes with butter on. A perfect snack, kind of sweet and savoury. My Dad asked me a few times if maybe I should be drinking less grapefruit juice. Maybe that's what contributed to my ten pound babies 😆

I’m craving Mango, avocado on toast and any citrus fruit, I’m not usually a veggie but I CANNOT bear the idea of eating meat at the moment, turns my stomach

sommeliermama · 17/06/2023 18:35

Red grapes (must be cold from the fridge), chocolate, anything citrussy especially grapefruit cordial, sparkling water

MyPoorLittlePup · 17/06/2023 18:50

@Blondeerror funny you should say that I’ve pretty much been veggie this entire pregnancy, have always been a meat lover but even seeing someone else eat meat makes me sick

I needed The Perfect Orange in my last pregnancy. I sent my husband out to get oranges so many times from so many shops and it was never the right orange so I’d have one bite and then not want anymore 😅😖

never did find that orange 😔

Ham has been quite a consistent one since around 8 weeks. Went through a lemon flavoured things phase although that stopped. And also a ramen noodle phase but that stopped. Fruit smoothies have also been great pretty much the whole time.
Currently 21 weeks 😊

It's over 30 years since I was pregnant but I remember sitting on the floor in front of our open fire (only form of heating in our tiny house) eating pickled onions and gherkins, I'd never ever touched them previously, during the last two months of pregnancy I ate jars and jars of them. Weirdly I started eating them again a few months ago when I finally got my hrt dose sorted out, now I find a chilled gherkin straight from the fridge delicious in the sunshine. Hormones are weird.

Slushies with my first.

With my second, I needed to smell the black foam you sometimes get as packaging. The craving was overwhelming at times. I didn't ever find any so had to make do sniffing booklets and a clean sponge.
