Lower Hcg levels

Hi everyone, I've had a bit of a stressful time with tests taking a while to darken. They are finally darkening the last couple days (picture below of today's). I'm CD 33 today, predicted ovulation with bbt, CD14 (usually period comes day 28) Because of this I got my Hcg blood levels done 2 days ago and I've just gotten the results back, they're only 17? Is this OK? Is it just the doubling their looking for? Has anyone had levels this low and went on to have a healthy pregnancy? Thank you. Very worried and feel like I've been on limbo land so far this whole pregnancy. ☹️

17 is still raised compared to the 'not pregnant' number. The range for each week in early pregnancy is huge - doubling is the number they look for, so your first result you can't really tell anything by. If you can, arrange a second blood test and then you can compare the result. Hope it's a sticky little bub x

  • 3 weeks: 5 - 72 mIU/mL.
  • 4 weeks: 10 -708 mIU/mL.
  • 5 weeks: 217 - 8,245 mIU/mL.
  • 6 weeks: 152 - 32,177 mIU/mL.
  • 7 weeks: 4,059 - 153,767 mIU/mL.
  • 8 weeks: 31,366 - 149,094 mIU/mL.
  • 9 weeks: 59,109 - 135,901 mIU/mL.
  • 10 weeks: 44,186 - 170,409 mIU/mL.

These are the expected ranges by week - you'd be just over 4 weeks, so within range x

Thank you for replying I really appreciate it! I just haven't seem to be able to find any success stories with levels starting out this low. But I guess it is within the range so it must be possible. I went in today for more bloods and they said my levels from Tuesday are 19, not 17. Two extra points. I'm so scared it's ectopic or a non viable pregnancy. It's awful being in limbo land and not being able to get excited about it all ☹️

I totally get it, it's so hard. Stay cautiously optimistic that it will be ok. I really really hope things work out for the best x

Thank you ❤️ The thing that's confusing me is that I got quite a dark good line on the morning of my blood test with first response rapid. I've read that the sensitivity of this test is 100? - so surely if I got a line with this my blood test should be higher? Does anyone know what the sensitivity is of the rapid one?!

@Pinkmoon23 absolutely vital to have a second one. The first one isn't helpful on it's own. As someone else has said you need to see a clear ride xx

I just did a clearblue rapid which are 25 Hcg. It came back clearly positive. And whilst I was doing that I realised I have some brown discharge / spotting. I'm so worried now this means I'm going to miscarry ☹️

Just brown no red yet... Like brown discharge... Is this normal?
