False positive?

Hello! I took a couple of clear blue tests today as I've been getting some unusual stomach pains and other symptoms. They were both negative but I left them on the bathroom side, I came back after half an hour and they both had faint positive lines.

I checked the tests after the advised three minutes and they were definitely negative.

Can test give false positives if they are left for longer than advised?

P.s I'm on the contraceptive injection so it's really unlikely. Also had really strong positive when pregnant twice before

Please advise! Thank you Smile

Yes, if you leave them past the time stated in the instructions, they can give false positive

Yes they can and in my experience it always happens with the blue dye tests for sure. I have also never had luck getting an early positive on blue dye. If you still think you could be pregnant, I recommend pink dye tests.

Yea l, they get evap lines. Clearblue are really bad for it. That’s why you only look within the timeline and then bin them
